Only one tool for all disciplines: eXs, the CAE system from M+M. Whether "just quickly" sketching drafts with block diagrams or creating sophisticated power plant documentation of 12,000 pages – eXs can be used to document all types of schematics and circuit diagrams across all disciplines.
The integrated AutoCAD offers almost infinite freedom when creating documentation, including the insertion of building floor plans for electrical planning.
Mechatronic design unites product development on one database, in one system. Mechanical and electrical engineering work closely together in a common documentation with the same parts and components – without any loss of information or logic. And this is exactly what eXs is designed for: A motor in a P&I flow diagram contains exactly the same information as its graphical image in the circuit diagram for its controller or a valve in the pneumatic diagram that is connected to the electrical controller.
eXs also works together with the 3D design: The components in the schematic and circuit diagrams, such as motors, sensors and valves, are available for installation in the 3D model, ensuring consistent use of components throughout the process. Constrained installation situations are recognized, the exact lengths of wires and cables can be determined without prototyping and a complete parts list is available at the end.
The integration of eXs into a data management system enables release processes for CAE documentation, automatic revisions and the further processing of parts lists up to transfer to the ERP system. The history of planning is thus transparent and comprehensible for the entire company, e.g. production can access the approved PDFs and parts lists via a web client.
Mechatronic design minimizes errors in product development, and therefore costs, too. Also, the products are sooner on the market and with the customer.
